If you’re under twenty, I hope you’ll consider applying. There’s no cost to apply and past applicants have shared that just the act of filling out the application has helped them to think about their futures, set goals, and inspired them to continue working on their projects. We're also building a community for young entrepreneurs through our Under 20 Summit in NYC on November 9 - 11. Please be in touch if you'd like to attend. Applications for the Thiel Fellowshp are accepted through December 31, 2012. We hope you'll apply.
If you’re twenty or over, I have a different request. Think of the smartest, most creative person you know who’s 19 or younger. Sit down and talk with that person about her or his goals and interests. For some people, such as future doctors, the time and cost of four years of college may be worth it. But for some people who plan to invent things or start companies, starting now may make more sense. If your friend is interested, perhaps suggest alternative paths, like the 20 Under 20.
